I love playing with Fall colors. It’s a combination that manages to convey both warmth and coolness at the same time, and I wanted to create a table that I felt like struck that balance well.

This year, I got my inspiration for our fall table entirely from these antique plates. Vintage dinnerware sets are really having a moment right now and I am completely for it. I have always loved wandering around antique stores and finding lost treasures. On our family road trips when I was younger, if I spotted a sign for a big antique mall, I’d beg my parents to stop. At that age it was more about finding antique toys and old comics, but I also just loved the feeling of getting lost in those big stores and not knowing what I’d find. I still love that feeling!

I found this dinnerware set in a shop in St. Charles, MO and I loved how versatile the colors are. You can make these work for a number of occasions and seasons depending on the colors you emphasize.

These plates have little burnt burgundy flowers with blue and green accents, so I played on those colors. I used the green as a base color with the runner and napkins, and then brought out some dark blue, burgundy, and even some deep pinks in the centerpiece. All of these florals came from Hobby Lobby!

The last thing I did was to add some copper, antique brass, and wood items to the table just to balance all the lighter, airy colors with something a bit deeper.

I also love how these colors (unintentionally) match our rug! I had to include it in at least one photo because they look so good together!

So what do you think?! Are you a fan of these slightly unconventional fall colors, or do you prefer sticking to the traditional look? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments!

Love it, Amy! This is a beautiful and unexpected take on fall. The colors and textures are beautiful together.
